Explore, learn and compete against other teams while discover the city searching for the lost treasure. Solving riddles, interacting with natives and using a tablet’s full potential, guests will have the opportunity to discover the best of the city while following the directions at their own pace.
An old letter written by a Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo was found recently and it has some references to a lost treasure that was brought to San Diego…
A descendant of Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo will be presented to your group and will give you this precious letter and a mission… The Capitan needs to retrieve the treasure and to recruit the bravest team to his next expedition to Kalaupapa.
Are you ready to explore the city and find the lost treasure?

The activity will start with the entire group together for the motivational briefing, where the general idea of the program will be explained. The group is then divided in teams (distinguished from each other by colored ribbons) and the tablets will be distributed among teams. By using a tablet from point to point, this activity allows teams to appreciate the city and truly feel that rewarding sensation of finding “the next” code.
The treasure hunters are given a list of items that they must retrieve. If they retrieve a certain amount of them within the given time limit they get given the next clue. A list of objects and QR Codes will be located in the most relevant and beautiful places in town and this will allow for a stimulating and exciting run through them.
The activity thematic can be customized or branded as GoTeam may prepare engaging tasks that incorporated the key messages and the company’s values seamlessly into the activity.
Tasks that may be added to SAN DIEGO TREASURE HUNT
- Follow leads from QR Codes placed around the city
- Solve city or company riddles received in several ways
- Interaction with locals to solve quizzes

- Questions and interesting facts about musicians, bands, sports personalities, famous people, local food and drink
ITEMS HUNT
Example: 8 of the 10 items on the given list must be retrieved and brought to the “X” location within a 30-minute time limit. The items must be in the state described when the time limit ends. (Such as: 1 rose, 1 sardine, an ace of spades playing card, a full glass of water, etc.
CHALLENGES – EXAMPLES
Drink & Find
A clue will be placed at the bottom of a container which will be filled with water. The treasure hunters must drink it in order to empty the container so that they can get the clue. We can increase the difficulty level by changing the water for something less appetizing to drink, like tomato juice or another thing.
Locked In Ice
A treasure hunter is given the clue encased in ice. They must break the ice to retrieve the clue. This is a very simple clue, but very satisfying for the hunter as they attempt to crack their way in. However, there are restrictions about how the ice should be broken…
